FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Puppies as young as eight weeks old are able to wear collars and understand praises. We recommend that you start as early as possible since it's easier for them to learn commands. You should start with the basics such as potty training and setting boundaries, asserting yourself as the leader for the puppy to follow. Correct bad behaviours as soon as you notice them as they are very receptive at this age.

Common signs of fear in dogs include panting, licking their noses, whining, hiding, barking, and tucking their tails between their legs. If your dog exhibits any of these traits, they might be in distress. Their fear can be caused by loud noises, unknown places, and strangers in their space. If signs of distress still persist after the events, you should consult a vet or a trainer.

This is varied for whatever course you signed up for. However, for your first class, we will be learning how to understand your dog better by recognizing their body language. This session does not require any tools, but we do recommend that you bring your dog's favourite snack as encouragement for them. (We also provide dog treats, so it is not necessary either.)

Training is a long process. It takes time and patience for the training to work, and it's not something you'll see immediately. You need to give some time for your dog to learn and understand. You should also be fully commited in training your dog, and not expect your trainers to provide you a fully obedient dog. Being part of the training allows you to establish yourself as a leader, in which the dog will follow your lead.

Before adopting a dog, you should consider what you can provide or sacrifice for them. Often people adopt a dog just because they look cute and forget the responsibility of caring for one. It is important that you know what kind of dog you want in your house (guard dog, companion, etc.) and do some research. Learn about the temperaments, nature, and needs of each dog breed and consider if you can provide for them. Be very sure and double confirm if you want the dog before adopting them.

Like humans, each dog has their own personality. As they grow old, dogs tend to become less social with other dogs and people. Of course, changes occur as they grow physically and emotionally, and they will continue to change until 2-3 years old. Letting your dog socialize with people and other dogs often will make them more tolerant of others, and it should be started as young as 6 months old. Aside from that, it is normal if your dog prefers to only interact with certain dogs or people.
